Vintage Original Beloved Belindy Doll

15" Georgette Novelties Beloved Belindy doll with white button eyes, painted features, in her original costume, except missing an apron. Approximately 15" head to toe, 4 1/2" diameter, 14 1/2" head to heel. In 1926, the author Johnny Gruelle authorized the P.F. Volland Company to sell Belindy dolls.

Beloved Belindy, Raggedy Ann and Andy’s friend, stands 15 inches tall, made of brown cotton muslin with stitch-jointed limbs, sewn-on striped stockings and shoes. Red bandana, blouse, and shoes. Original white cotton pantaloons and yellow and red floral skirt. The elastic in the skirt is stretched, common on this age of doll, and has a newer elastic strip sewn on top of the older elastic. Some paint has worn off the two white snaps on the blouse. This style of Beloved Belindy was the first to have toes pointing forward (not to the side) and without an outlined nose. Slight fading on her left elbow. Also a 1925 Belindy book is included (not shown).
