The StarTech.com ST1000PEXPSE is a PCI Express network card that equips a desktop or rack-mounted server with one RJ45 port capable of 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps, or 10 Mbps connections while also delivering Power over Ethernet to a remote device. It lets you run both data and up to 25.5 W of power through one Cat5e or better cable, so you can place an IP camera, wireless access point, or VoIP phone exactly where you need it without searching for a nearby power outlet.

The card installs in a PCIe 2.1 x1 slot and comes with both a full-height bracket and a low-profile bracket, making it a straightforward upgrade for small form-factor computers as well as standard towers and servers. Once in place, the Realtek RTL8125B controller supports VLAN tagging, 16 K jumbo frames, Wake-on-LAN, PXE boot, and Audio-Video Bridging, features that help network administrators fine-tune performance and streamline remote management.

Whether you are retrofitting an existing workstation to power a single PoE device or adding a high-speed port to a lab server, this adapter offers a practical, cost-effective way to combine power delivery and multi-gigabit connectivity on Windows or Linux systems.

Highlights:
  • One RJ45 port that supports 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps, and 10 Mbps speeds
  • Power over Ethernet output up to 25.5 W through IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards
  • Uses Cat5e or better cabling for both power and data
  • Realtek RTL8125B chipset with VLAN tagging, jumbo frame, Wake-on-LAN, PXE boot, and AVB support
  • Installs in a PCIe 2.1 x1 slot and includes both standard and low-profile brackets
  • Compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems
