Old Zuni Sterling Silver Turquoise Flush Set Channel Inlay Pendant w/ 25" Chain

A striking older Zuni pendant, depicting a Knifewing, whose stones are set completely flush within the channel inlay framework. Richly colored turquoise and coral contrast nicely with the accents of jet. It seems that the majority of more recent inlay deities feature stone-to-stone inlay that are bezel set in sections...wings, torso, head, etc. Don't get me wrong, they're gorgeous! I don't often find older flush inlay pieces with this much detail. The Knifewing is a deity original to the Zuni, who represents the ultimate warrior, or war god.
This pendant measures 1 3/16" long from the top of the bale and is a tiny bit under 1" (31/32"). I placed it on a vintage 25' fine sterling silver rope chain that's marked "Sterling" on the spring ring clasp. The pendant is unmarked, but tests as sterling and combined with the chain weighs in at 7 grams. In overall lovely vintage condition.
