Gunstar Heroes is a Sega Genesis run-and-gun game where players control either Red or Blue Gunstar to stop dictator Colonel Red from awakening the destructive android "Golden Silver" by collecting four powerful gems. The Gunstar brothers, along with their elder brother Green, were tasked with guarding these gems after Professor White Gunstar first defeated Golden Silver. After their brother Green is kidnapped and mind-controlled by Colonel Red, the remaining Gunstars must fight through various stages and unique bosses to defeat the evil empire, rescue Green, and prevent Golden Silver's return.
