Cisco 100Mb LAN 100Base-FX LC Multi-mode SFP Transceiver Module

The Cisco GLC-FE-100FX is a small form factor pluggable transceiver that provides a straightforward way to add 100 megabit fiber links to your network. Insert it into the SFP slot of a compatible Cisco switch or router and you can migrate a copper segment to optical media without changing the rest of your infrastructure.

This model uses the 100BASE-FX standard and connects through an LC interface on multimode fiber. Operating at 1310 nanometers, it maintains a stable link over distances up to 2 kilometers, which translates to roughly 1.2 miles.

The reach and immunity to electromagnetic interference make the module practical for campus backbones, inter-building runs, manufacturing floors, or any environment where copper cabling would be too short or too vulnerable.

It works natively with Cisco Catalyst 2960 and Catalyst 3560 switches as well as Integrated Services Routers in the 1111 and 1117 families, so network administrators can deploy it quickly and manage it with the same command set they already know.
